WestJet ready to play ball with the Blue Jays
WestJet is ready to play ball and has signed a deal making it an official partner of the Toronto Blue Jays. The announcement marks the airline’s first major team sponsorship. “This major league sponsorship makes great sense for WestJet,”said Richard Bartrem, WestJet vice-president, Communications and Community Relations. “We’re proud to step up to the plate as this year’s official partner of Canada’s baseball team. We’re excited to watch the Toronto Blue Jays in what we know will be a promising year for the team.”With more than 60 domestic flights into Toronto on average each day, WestJet hopes Canadians will take the opportunity to cheer on Canada’s team by flying its strong Canadian network. Baseball fans looking to see the Blue Jays take on division rivals — the New York Yankees — can take advantage of new, non-stop service seven-times daily from Toronto to LaGuardia launching in June.
