WestJet ‘Fun ‘n Festival Series’ heads for new heights
WestJet has announced details of its “Fun ‘n Festival Series”line-up. According to officials, as the official airline of festival fun, WestJetters will be in attendance at more than 40 Canadian festivals from coast to coast. New sponsorships this year include the Festival d’été in Quebec City, the Cathedral Village Arts Festival in Regina, the City of Victoria’s 150th Anniversary and the CMT Country Music Festival in Barrie, Ont., among others. “This is an exciting time for our airline,”said Richard Bartrem, WestJet vice-president, Communications and Community Relations. “At WestJet, we believe in having fun and supporting our guests in the communities where they work and play. We’re looking forward to celebrating with Canadians at festivals across the country.”Throughout the summer, two Fun ‘n Festival caravans will travel across the country to share WestJet’s fun and friendly experience with Canadians. Each caravan will be accompanied by WestJetters greeting guests at each stop and giving away more than 300 WestJet flights. Those wishing to follow the action can visit http://www.westjetfestivals.com and follow the Fun ‘n Festival team through the site’s road blog, YouTube videos and @WestJetFest twitter account. The web site is also complemented by a new mobile site, allowing Canadians to access westjetfestivals.com from a smartphone. Visitors can also participate in the “join the debate, win the experience”contest and cast a vote for their favourite Canadian festival. Voters are entered to win one of five festival experiences, including airfare, accommodations and tickets to one of these sponsored festivals: Okanagan Wine Festival in Kelowna, BC; Calgary Stampede; Halifax International Buskers Festival; Fair at the PNE in Vancouver; Winterlude Festival 2013 in Ottawa.
