The Alpina Gstaad joins Preferred Hotels group
Switzerland’s The Alpina Gstaad has been accepted into Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Scheduled to open on Dec. 1, the five-star property was granted this new affiliation to recognize its wealth of amenities, which include a choice of three restaurants, including the first European outpost of MEGU, a large Six Senses Spa, a Havana-inspired cigar lounge and a private cinema. Set on five acres in the exclusive hilltop area of Oberbort, The Alpina Gstaad has 56 rooms and suites and overlooks the village, which is nestled in picturesque Saanenland in the heart of the Bernese Alps. Part of a $337 million luxury development, the hotel will also offer guests a fully equipped fitness centre and infinity lap pool. Other facilities include a lounge and bar, a wine-tasting room, a ballroom and several board rooms. A large outdoor swimming pool will be set in the gardens. (http://www.PreferredHotelGroup.com)
