Get Your Nomination In For The Edith Baxter Memorial Award And Elevate Jamaica
There is still time to get your nomination in for the Edith Baxter Memorial Award, an all-new award program that celebrates outstanding Canadians who use their influence to elevate Destination Jamaica.
This year’s inaugural prize winner will receive a five-night Luxury Included® Vacation for two in Jamaica courtesy of Sandals Resorts with round-trip airfare to the destination provided by Air Canada Vacations.
The Edith Baxter Memorial Award is open to all Canadians who have made a substantial contribution towards the positive advancement of Jamaica’s tourism industry and/or Jamaican culture.
Individuals working in the fields of tourism and hospitality, music, arts and culture, community activism, education, healthcare, athletics, communications and technology, and public service are invited to apply or submit a nomination on behalf of a friend or colleague.
The commemorative award was established earlier this year by the Jamaica Tourist Board and the Baxter family in order to pay tribute to Edith Baxter, the co-founder of Baxter Media and former editor-in-chief of Canadian Travel Press.
Mrs. Baxter was a long-time advocate for Destination Jamaica and played an important role in supporting and spotlighting Jamaica’s tourism product within the Canadian market.
Nominations are open now until Friday, June 25. All entries will be reviewed by a panel of industry judges and the final prize winner will be announced during a presentation ceremony in September.
