Share your awful gift and win with Wyndham
Thousands — if not millions — of Canadians will get awful and/or embarrassing gifts this holiday season, which is why Wyndham Hotels is holding an online contest that rewards them for sharing their horrible gifts with the web. Wyndham has dreamed up “My Horrible Holiday Gift,”where it’s possible to trade in less-than-desirable gifts for some valuable prizes. The grand prize is two million Wyndham Rewards points, which equates to 333 free nights at their hotels around the world, an $8,000 shopping spree to a favourite store or many tickets to concerts and sporting events, especially hockey. Plenty of $50 and $100 gift cards will be given away as well. Through Jan. 10, Canadian and US Wyndham Rewards members who visit http://www.wyndhamrewards.com/holiday and upload a photo of their horrible holiday gift, along with a brief description of what makes it so bad, will be entered for their chance to win any of the prizes. All entrants are encouraged to rate, comment on and share their favourite submissions with family and friends through Facebook and Twitter. Online voting will take place from Jan. 17-23, and the finalist with the most votes wins the two million points. (http://www.wyndhamrewards.com/holiday)
