Regent launches ‘Luxury Goes Exploring’ blog

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has launched a new blog — “Luxury Goes Exploring”– celebrating the tastes and traditions of the places that the all-inclusive luxury line visits along with insider tips and destination information guests can use when planning their cruise vacation. “Our discerning guests share our passion for exploring the world and learning more about the people, the culture and the food of the more than 300 ports of call we visit a year,”said Randall Soy, the line’s executive vice-president. “The new blog and our enhanced social media efforts on Facebook and Twitter will provide guests with fascinating and useful information about the ports they will visit and give them a more intimate experience with cultures and customs of the world.”As part of this effort, the line announced the appointment of Mara Papatheodorou as its special contributing editor. Papatheodorou, a taste and traditions expert, will provide a regular blog feature called Sail, Sip & Savor. A former editor at Bon Appétit magazine who oversaw the magazine’s international and entertaining stories, Papatheodorou will explore the history of cuisine and culture in popular ports of call and will also provide suggestions on where to dine locally and shop for special ingredients and other products unique to the region.
