On The Road At ExploreGB
Britain’s annual travel trade fair ExploreGB kicked off today in Liverpool with over 300 international buyers, including about a dozen from Canada, in attendance, reports PressToday’s Michael Baginski.
Delegates will meet with over 300 suppliers from across Great Britain over three days before departing on fam trips designed to introduce the wealth and diversity of the British tourism experience.
At the conference’s introductory session at the ACC Liverpool conference centre, VisitBritain marketing director Joss Croft told delegates that Britain had a record year for tourism in 2015 with nearly 36 million visitors, with 2016 estimates coming in at a million more than that.
Overall, Britain is on track to meet its goal of attracting 42 million visitors by 2020, he said.
