New posts for AC’s Buchnea, Young, Trudeau
Anna Buchnea has been named director, passenger sales Canada for Air Canada. Her appointment, which takes effect on June 1, was announced by the carrier’s vice-president, global sales, Claude Morin. Buchnea, was formerly the carrier’s general manager, sales communications and support, replaces Peter Wilson in the role. Wilson is retiring on May 31 after 34 years of service with Air Canada. Morin said of Wilson’s retirement: “During his career, Peter has been a true ambassador for Air Canada. I would like to personally thank him for his dedication and true professionalism.” To fill Buchnea’s previous role, Michelle Young will take over the job of manager, sales communications and support on June 1. In other news, Robert Trudeau will join Air Canada in a new position — director, business development. He will be responsible for new business development, group sales and the rewards for small business program. He brings well over 20 years of airline experience to Air Canada, the past 12 of which were specific to business development at the national level. Trudeau’s appointment is effective May 1.
