KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Opens Crown Lounge At Toronto-Pearson

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines inaugurated its Toronto-Pearson renovated KLM Crown Lounge as part of a global project of improving the comfort and customer experience of its international lounges.

Situated within the international area of Terminal 3, the 575 square meters lounge boasts a seating capacity of 161.  Its expansive 50-foot-wide window provides guests with a panoramic view of the runways and airport activities.

The main transformations in the lounge include a new front desk reception and a design review to streamline space and light. They also encompass several significant upgrades with comfortable and spacious furniture, with a touch of the distinctive KLM Blue.

Beyond aesthetics, the furniture embodies sleek designs and ergonomic forms, incorporating sustainability with the inclusion of long-lasting materials and circular elements such as eco-leather and recycled materials.

The colour palette exudes natural warmth and prominently features the iconic KLM blue. Additionally, a curated display of KLM’s iconic miniature Delft blue houses is on exhibit.  Each house in the collection – 103 so far – depicts a real Dutch building and serve as a unique gift for the World Business Class passengers traveling on international flights. A new house is released each year to highlight KLM’s anniversary on Oct. 7.

Marleen van de Pol, Vice-President Customer Experience at KLM, said: “Investment in signature lounges at international stations are the cornerstone of elevating the premium customer experience, aligning perfectly with our commitment to investing in our new World Business Class and our recently introduced Premium Comfort cabin.  Branded lounges add to the connection with our customers in delivering our brand promise of creating memorable experiences.”

Jean-Eudes de La Bretèche, General Manager of Air France KLM Canada, said: “We are delighted to provide Toronto passengers with one of the 2 KLM international lounges. The structural adjustments and rejuvenated atmosphere of this space align perfectly with our Amsterdam lounges dedicated to delivering an enjoyable experience for our clients before their flight.”

The KLM Crown Lounge welcomes qualifying passengers from KLM, Air France, and their SkyTeam partners as well as holders of Priority Pass, Dragon Pass and DreamFolks cards.

Operating between 9 am and 10:30 pm, this lounge’s convenience and comfort are available to all international Terminal 3 travellers, upon availability, regardless of their airline or class of service.  Access can be obtained for a nominal fee of $50, which can be purchased directly at the lounge.

Guests can enjoy the convenience of a self-service buffet, featuring a variety of hot and cold food options, and a bar offering a selection of wines, beers and spirits.

In Canada, KLM flies to Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton and Montreal.

It also provides convenient connections between Montreal-Trudeau to/from Ottawa and Québec City which are carried out daily onboard KLM (or Air France) buses equipped with Wi-Fi.

Toronto stands as KLM’s primary destination in Canada boasting 13 weekly flights. Starting, Oct. 29, the winter program will feature 11 weekly flights operated either with a B787 or A330. KLM’s new Premium Comfort will be featured on the daily B787 flights.
