Karisma Takes Things Up A Notch
Karisma Resorts & Hotels — which manages such brands as El Dorado, Azul, Generations and Nickelodeon — has announced an aggressive expansion plan to keep up in the booming, highly competitive all-inclusive field, reports PressToday’s Mike Baginski.
Currently boasting 26 properties with over 4,500 rooms spread across seven countries, the resort group says it will double capacity and have 35 resorts by 2021.
Highlights of the expansion, made at Karisma’s annual Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultants (GIVC) Awards at the Eldorado Royale in Mexico, include:
- A new destination in Antigua.
- Groundbreaking for a new Nickelodeon family resort in the Riviera Maya in 2017.
- The development of a massive multi-hotel complex in Jamaica.
The latter destination will see an Azul resort open in Negril next May.
“We are really raising the bar in Jamaica. We are really, really raising the bar in the Caribbean,” enthused Karisma’s senior business development manager Daniel Scheiman to an audience of several hundred GIVC agents yesterday.
A senior Karisma executive also revealed that in January the company will announce a partnership with another major brand — like Nickelodeon — for a family friendly resort to be built in Punta Cana.
That same executive added that options are also being explored in Brazil and another Nickelodeon resort could be in the cards for Cartagena, Colombia, in about three years.
Karisma also continues its expansion in the Adriatic region with a new 500-room Sensatori resort opening near Dubrovnik, Croatia, in 2017.
