Jamaica Celebrates Canada Jetlines MoBay Flights
The Jamaica Tourist Board is welcoming the launch of the expansion of the Canada Jetlines winter flight schedule from Toronto to Montego Bay beginning this fall.
The Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica, said: “We are delighted with the additional flight options to Jamaica provided by Canada Jetlines. This move highlights Canadians’ growing confidence in our tourism offerings and their ongoing enthusiasm for the destination.”
Starting Nov. 5, 2023, the Canadian airline is offering weekend flights connecting the two cities via its 174-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. From January 2024, service will increase to three flights per week, providing travellers ample opportunity to visit and explore Montego Bay and other areas of Jamaica.
The announcement arrives on the heels of the implementation of Jamaica’s new digital customs and immigration form beginning this September, ensuring a smooth and seamless arrival experience into Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay as well as Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.
Moreover, Sangster International Airport is undergoing significant expansion and modernization, with infrastructure upgrades at Jamaica’s leading gateway, including a runway extension and expansion of the Immigration Hall.
Donovan White, Director of Tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board, said: “With the goal of ensuring a hassle-free experience, these enhancements have been implemented to optimize the arrival process for visitors to our island,”
