HVCB Appointment

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) has announced the promotion of Robyn Basso to senior director of travel industry partnerships. She previously served as regional director of travel trade marketing.

In her new role, Basso will lead the development and execution of HVCB’s travel industry sales strategy designed to promote travel trade growth from North America. Her responsibilities include managing the bureau’s wholesale and retail relationships, training, and events. In addition, Basso will represent HVCB at key trade shows, industry meetings, and seminars. She will oversee the North America travel trade team and, in conjunction with HVCB’s marketing team, drive initiatives intended to create and enable conversion of demand for the Hawaiian Islands.

Basso joined HVCB in 2008 and represented the Hawaiian Islands in the Midwest and East Coast markets as regional director of travel trade marketing. She previously held travel trade and sales positions at The Travel Institute, ResortQuest Hawaii, and Castle Resorts & Hotels, and began her career with HVCB as the director of national accounts in 2002.

Basso earned a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University.
