G Adventures celebrates ‘Earth Month’
In celebration of Earth Day (April 22), G Adventures has launched a global “Earth Month”campaign running throughout April. Developed in partnership with its not-for-profit Planeterra, the ACT initiative encourages agents to act responsibly on a local level for the overall good of the planet, while providing a forum for people to share their small acts of green living. Bruce Poon Tip, founder, G Adventures, says the Earth Month campaign creates a platform for the company to interact with customers in a way that benefits the planet. “We know our customers love the countries we take them to and one way they can give back is by helping us spread the word on how to help preserve our planet. So get snapping, share ideas and encourage others to do the same,”he said. The most creative entrant will win a trip to Costa Rica or Thailand for themselves and three friends. To enter, participants must visit http://www.gadventures.com/earth-month and upload a picture of their act of green along with a 140-character description. Submissions are limited to a maximum of one photo entry per person. There is also an additional random prize draw that can be entered by sharing the G Adventures’ Earth Month “tip of the day”through Facebook or Twitter. Entrants can submit a picture of the “tip of the day”in action as well. The contest closes April 30. Throughout the month, the tour operator is also raising money for Planeterra’s Destination Preservation Fund. With a goal of $3,000, donations will enable the organization to work with local communities to preserve the precious places we all love to visit such as the Galapagos’ pristine ocean environment, Guatemala’s majestic Lake Atitlan, and Antarctica’s fragile Albatross habitat.
