CHOICE REWARDS TOPS A MILLION

Choice Hotels Canada reports that it has welcomed the one millionth member in its Choice Privileges rewards program at the Quality Inn & Suites Bayer\’s Lake in Halifax, N.S.

Tim Oldfield, managing director of Choice Hotels Canada, said, \”Member stays account for close to one-third of all hotel reservations in Canada and we\’re working with our franchisees to push this even higher. Hotels benefit from incremental revenue, increased guest satisfaction and much more.\”

Worldwide Choice Privileges membership exceeds 18 million, allowing customers to earn and redeem points in 25 countries around the world. Customers can redeem points in a variety of different ways, either towards free hotel stays, the most popular option, or redemption for airline rewards, brand-name gift cards, including gas and electronic retailers.

Oldfield noted that, \”When we launched in Canada eight years ago, we set out to be one of the industry\’s fastest, easiest way to earn free hotel nights,\” says Oldfield. \”One million members is a significant milestone, which is a testament to the value propositions our brands and our rewards program offer.\”

The program is designed and targeted at frequent travellers. It offers one of the fastest ways to earn free stays in the industry; everyday business and leisure travel can turn into global travel at over 6,000 Choice properties, as well as luxury resorts.
