CATO lends support to Air Canada’s call for arbitration
The Canadian Association of Tour Operators (CATO) is lending its support to Air Canada’s call for the federal government to direct arbitration in order to avert potential disruptions for travellers and “avoid another glitch to our tourism industry and to the Canadian economy.”
In its statement, CATO said that: “As an organization representing a diverse range of tour operators across Canada, we recognize the critical role that Air Canada plays in facilitating travel – both domestically and internationally. Any disruption in service could have significant repercussions not only for travellers but also for the broader tourism industry, which relies heavily on the stability and reliability of air travel.”
To avoid such a situation, CATO is urging the federal government “to consider the importance of timely arbitration to ensure that travellers can continue to plan and enjoy their journeys without uncertainty.”
And CATO’s statement concluded: “The tourism sector is a vital component of Canada’s economy, and it is essential that we work together to maintain its integrity and support the needs of all stakeholders involved.”
