Canada’s place of priority in the consideration of Florida tourism authorities was easily confirmed by visitor numbers that were presented in the oceanfront city of West Palm Beach recently.
There, an impressive demonstration of tourism loyalty to the state by Canadian travellers was tabled by the tourism association Visit Florida, which brought a host of stats to the Florida Huddle travel trade marketplace in early February.
Those stats, displayed and explained to international media members, left no doubt that Canada is the largest supplier of visitor dollars to the state –...
March Break is fast approaching and Canadians are packing their bags and getting ready to get away from winter. They’re also eager to share the excitement of that getaway on social media – before and during their trip – but Allstate Insurance Company of Canada (Allstate) is reminding Canadians that sharing details online about a vacation also announces when their home will be unoccupied, which could put it at risk of a burglary.
To that end, Allstate is launching its ‘Hold That Travel Selfie!’ public awareness campaign to inform Canadians about the risks of oversharing...

Today (Feb. 23) is the day and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is inviting Canadians to enjoy one of the island’s favourite snack foods in celebration of Jamaican Patty Day.
Now in its 38th year, the annual food-focused celebration pays tribute to the legendary beef between Toronto’s Jamaican patty vendors and local food inspectors.
Back in February 1985, the infamous ‘Patty Wars’ took over Toronto streets when local authorities decided the city’s Jamaican patty vendors could no longer use the term “beef patties” to describe their offerings.
Following a series of...
“Travel challenges have never been more in the spotlight than in the past year. For TICO registrants, I believe there is a ‘silver-lining’ to share with consumers,” observed Richard Smart. “When there is so much uncertainty,” TICO’s president & CEO continued: “why not promote the added consumer protection you offer as a TICO registered business? We have such a strong travel marketplace in Ontario and I believe the added consumer protection that’s offered is something that will resonate with consumers now more-so than ever.”
As for 2022, Smart told Canadian...
