Air Canada has inaugurated two strategic non-stop routes from its Montreal global hub to Europe.
The carrier’s non-stop, year-round service to Toulouse is the airline's fourth destination in France and marks the only year-round service between North America and southwestern France, connecting two global aerospace centres, as well as two dynamic francophone cities.
Additionally, Air Canada's seasonal services from Montreal to Copenhagen complement its year-round services to the Danish capital from Toronto.

IATA has released its results for April 2023 and passenger traffic demand continues to be strong.
Results indicated that:
Total traffic in April 2023 (measured in revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose 45.8% compared to April 2022. Globally, traffic is now at 90.5% of pre-COVID levels. At 81.3%, industry load factor was only 1.8 percentage points below pre-pandemic level.
Domestic traffic for April rose 42.6% compared to the year-ago period and has now fully recovered, posting a 2.9% increase over the April 2019 results.

As IATA prepares for its 79th AGM in Istanbul, Peter Cerdá, Regional Vice-President, the Americas, International Air Transport Association (IATA), talked to Canadian Travel Press about challenges, opportunities, sustainability, NDC and a whole lot more.
Cerdá observed, during that conversation, that: “When things go wrong, customers should have the right to receive compensation. But why should airlines be forced to provide compensation if the disruption is clearly outside their control.”

Condor Airlines inaugurated a new non-stop Frankfurt route from Edmonton International Airport (YEG), operating twice-weekly (Tuesday and Friday) on May 26.

Transport Minister Omar Alghabra has announced that the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) will soon be launching a new Verified Traveller program that will offer a faster and more efficient screening experience for eligible travellers at select airports across Canada.
