Porter launches seasonal Tremblant service
Porter Airlines has begun its third summer of service to Mont Tremblant from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Starting with two weekly flights, service ramps up to include four weekly roundtrip options during peak season from June 25 to Sept. 1. AC to conduct first flight with sustainable biofuel
Air Canada will operate its first flight with biofuel today (June 18) to highlight its commitment to the environment. Flight AC991 from Toronto to Mexico City is expected to generate at least 40% fewer emissions by using jet fuel derived from recycled cooking oil and through other fuel-saving measures, making it the most environmentally friendly flight ever flown by Air Canada. Arbitrator makes AC, IAMAW decision
Air Canada reports that it -- along with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) -- has received the decision of the arbitrator, Michel Picher, in the final offer selection arbitration conducted in accordance with the process legislated by the federal government in the Protecting Air Service Act. The arbitrator's selection of Air Canada's final offer concludes a new collective agreement with the IAMAW following negotiations and mediated talks that took place over a period of 14 months. Effective Sept. 10, Jet Airways will be consolidating its twice daily services between North America, Brussels and India, concentrating on two North American gateways - Toronto's Pearson International Airport and New York's Newark-Liberty International Airport.
