WestJet leases B757-200s for Hawaii flights
WestJet has leased two Boeing 757-200 aircraft from Thomas Cook Airlines to deliver more non-stop, daytime service between Calgary and Honolulu and Maui, and between Edmonton and Maui. Pending regulatory approval, flights are scheduled to start Dec. 13 and continue through April 21, 2013. The federal government has given Air Transat approval to operate scheduled international air services between Canada and Colombia, providing travellers with direct flight choices between the two countries. Transportation Minister Denis Lebel yesterday announced the designations of Air Transat and WestJet to operate scheduled international air services between Canada and several destinations in the Caribbean and Central America, providing more choice and convenience to travellers.
