Canadians Invited To Discover New York’s Wonders
A high profile, NYC & Company delegation was in Montreal and Toronto this week, updating Canadian travel trade types on the latest developments on the New York City tourism scene.
NYC & Company’s President and CEO Fred Dixon and Executive Vice President, Global Communications, Tiffany Townsend offered destination updates, of-the-moment holiday activities and the value of visiting NYC during winter; as well as highlighting the New York’s unparalleled diversity and multicultural experiences across all five boroughs.
NYC & Company’s visit comes as New York City expects to welcome 56.4 million visitors in 2022, recovering 85% of its record 2019 visitation, including 8.9 million international travellers in total and 650,000 from Canada.
The City’s international outlook continues to trend upwards, with 900,000 Canadian visitors expected to visit in 2023.

In early 2023, visitors are invited to enjoy NYC Winter Outing offers across hotels, dining, Broadway shows, attractions, museums, tours and performing arts.
The initiative celebrates the City’s winter season and provides incredible value with NYC & Company’s signature programs: NYC Restaurant Week, NYC Broadway Week and NYC Must-See Week, all taking place Jan. 17 through Feb.13, 2023; and for the second year, NYC Hotel Week, from Jan. 3 through Feb. 13 — offering 23% off stays at more than 140 hotels.
New York City is currently home to 124,000 hotel rooms, with 11,000 additional rooms debuting in the next two years. Notable openings this year include Aman New York, Hard Rock Hotel New York, the City’s second Ritz-Carlton, the Radio Hotel in Washington Heights, and MOXY Lower East Side. In the boroughs beyond Manhattan, highlights include the recently opened Ace Hotel Brooklyn and Renaissance New York Flushing Hotel, and the forthcoming Westin New York Staten Island.
