Canadian Agents Experience The Best Of Ireland
Tourism Ireland’s annual sales mission in Canada is underway, with the tourist board and its partners travelling to London, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax to showcase the island of Ireland’s offerings to Canadian travel advisors.
The targeted sales mission, which kicked off in London yesterday (Feb. 27), connects agents in Eastern Canada with a delegation of 20 tourism enterprises from Ireland and three Canadian partners.
The events aim to help advisors sell Ireland by targeting key consumer passion points of adventure and experiences, ‘craic’ and culture, history, and heritage as well as luxury travel via panel discussions by industry experts across the island of Ireland, with partners also connecting with top tier travel and lifestyle media and influencers at two of the events while in Ottawa and Montreal.
The sales mission is a key strategy in the rebuilding tourism to the island of Ireland to 2019 levels, and a valuable opportunity for Tourism Ireland to highlight new and existing offerings on the island of Ireland to the travel trade in Eastern Canada, ensuring they are enthusiastic and equipped to sell the destination to their clients. As the fifth strongest market for the island of Ireland in terms of holiday revenue, the sales blitz provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate what’s new for 2023 for Canadian clients and encourage them to drive bookings for 2023/2024 and beyond.
Sandra Moffatt, Manager, Tourism Ireland, Canada, said: This week’s sales mission welcomes our largest ever delegation of Irish industry to Canada as we highlight the breadth and variety of reasons to visit Ireland in 2023.”
Moffatt continued: “The visit offers a strong opportunity for partners to connect with travel advisors selling the island of Ireland, encouraging them to expand their programming and ensure Ireland is top of mind when recommending destinations to clients. Canadian holidaymakers are highly valued with 240,000 Canadian visitors delivering €209 million to the economy in 2019, and we look forward to re-building sustainable tourism growth from across the country this year.”
