Blue Mountain Opens ‘Ultimate Tree Fort’

Ontario’s Blue Mountain Resort is offering guests a new way to enjoy the outdoors with its latest attraction, the Canopy Climb Net Adventure.

Described as “the ultimate tree fort,” Canopy Climb features bouncy nets, tree houses, bridges and a watchtower, all suspended above the ground and under a covering of trees.

“We are very excited about Canopy Climb as it offers an outdoor adventure for guests as young as three years old,” says Graeme Dugale, senior director of recreation and programing, Blue Mountain Resort. “It’s a great option for families with younger children, but we think people of all ages will enjoy playing on this attraction.”

Canopy Climb’s design is based on a model by Active Constructions, a company out of the Netherlands that creates adventure concepts such as ziplines and high ropes courses in parks and resorts around the world.

“Blue Mountain worked with Active Constructions to come up with the unique design of Canopy Climb and to integrate it into our Resort’s natural environment,” added Dugale. “This is the first adventure attraction that Active Constructions has produced in North America and we are thrilled to showcase this company’s creative work.”

With the addition of Canopy Climb, Blue Mountain now offers a total of 13 outdoor attractions during the resort’s “green season,” which typically runs from late spring to mid-October.

Blue Mountain Resort is open daily throughout the summer, with attractions opening at 10 a.m., weather and conditions permitting.
