ALT opens at YYZ

The first ALT Hotel to be built outside of Quebec is now open and welcoming guests at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The modern 13-floor, 153-room hotel occupies a prime location adjacent to the airport terminals at the end of the LINK train line that runs every five minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Christiane Germain, co-president and CEO of Groupe Germain Hospitality, said of the opening: “Our brand of hospitality has been welcomed in markets across Canada and we are thrilled to now be offering an ALTernative hotel experience to the millions of travellers who transit through Toronto Pearson International Airport every year.” The GTAA’s chief marketing and commercial officer, Pamela Griffith-Jones, said: “We are very excited to be working with Groupe Germain Hospitality. The ALT Hotel concept is an ideal fit for our business and leisure guests who are looking for simple, yet stylish accommodations close to the airport at an affordable price.” ALT Hotels are an innovative no-frills-chic hotel concept combining modern design and eco-friendly features at the same affordable rate, every day, all year round. Germain pointed out that: “In our view, being ALTernative means knowing what counts for our guests. Complimentary WIFI, ultra comfortable bedding and mattresses, healthy food on the go and cutting edge meeting spaces are just some of the basic luxuries that can be found at ALT Hotel Toronto Pearson.” Built near major highways, airports or in urban centres, ALT Hotels can be found in Quebec City, in Montreal’s Quartier Dix30 and now at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Groupe Germain Hospitality plans to operate 10 ALT Hotels across Canada by the end of 2016 and is currently building three new properties at Halifax’s Stanfield International Airport; in Montreal’s District Griffin; and in Winnipeg’s Sports Hospitality and Entertainment District (SHED).
