Carnival Names Duffy New President
Christine Duffy has been named the new president of Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) – which has 24 ships and is the largest of Carnival’s nine brands.
Duffy, who is currently the president and CEO of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), will take over her new responsibilities on Feb. 1, 2015 and in her new capacity will report to Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corp. & Plc.
“Christine is one of the most respected and dynamic leaders in the travel industry,” Donald said in announcing her appointment. “She brings a wealth of experience to Carnival Cruise Line that will help the cruise line continue to deliver unmatched vacation experiences to millions of guests each year.”
Duffy has more than 30 years experience in the travel industry. As CLIA’s CEO, Duffy successfully engaged member cruise lines and industry stakeholders to support CLIA’s expansion into new and emerging markets around the world.

The name Carnival is truly synonymous with cruising and I look forward to joining this talented team to continue the tradition of excellence that has made Carnival Cruise line one of the top cruise lines in the world.”
Speaking on Duffy’s appointment, Adam Goldstein, chairman-elect, CLIA, and president and COO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., said, “While Christine will certainly be missed at CLIA, she has a strong team at CLIA who will continue to support our membership and the many activities we have underway around the world. A transition plan is underway and will be announced shortly. Christine and the CLIA team led many advancements including the globalization of cruise industry associations around the world to create a unified voice promoting our industry.”
