RIU YUCATAN REOPENED
Following an extensive renovation, RIU Hotels & Resorts has reopened the hotel Riu Yucatan on the Riviera Maya. It was the hotel chain’s first property in Mexico and since 1997 has been a favourite with families, thanks to its 24-hour all-inclusive service and activities. The pools, gardens, restaurants, bars and rooms and bathrooms have been renovated. RIU invested $20 million in the renovation of this hotel. The Riu Yucatan offers 507 rooms with new furniture and a brighter feel, thanks to the predominantly white and blue décor. Dining options include the buffet restaurant “La Hacienda,”the Asian “Shangay,”the Mexican grill “La Margarita,”located in the Beach Club of the Club Hotel Riu Tequila, and the new Italian restaurant “Sicilia.”The renovated hotel also offers three fresh water pools, including a new one and a swim-up bar. For the little ones, the hotel offers the RiuLand program as well as a playground. Guests can also enjoy the use of sports facilities, as well as a gym, Jacuzzi and spa. (http://www.riu.com)
