ONVIGO advisors return from first-ever Hyatt FAM in Cancun
Canadian host agency Onvigo recently hosted its first-ever FAM trip in Cancun, Mexico, in partnership with the Hyatt Inclusive Collection, which currently has more than 80 properties across 10 unique brands in the Mexican Caribbean.
Held from Aug. 27 to Aug. 29, 11 advisors were hand-picked to visit some of Hyatt’s newest five-star properties, including host properties Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres and Hyatt Vivid, as well as Dreams Vista, Breathless Cancun Soul, and Secrets/Dreams Playa Mujeres.
“Canada loves Mexico, and advisors need to experience a variety of properties so that they have a comparison,” said Shean Carmichael, director of operations, ONVIGO, adding that part of what makes ONVIGO unique is the majority of new agents are experienced travellers, “who have the travel experience, but are still learning how to sell travel to their circle of influence. ONVIGO’s unlimited potential is that we are net-new advisors; when we partner with someone like Hyatt Inclusive Collection, they capture the imagination of these new advisors.” 
For some, Cancun was a brand new destination. For others, it was their first time travelling with their new host agency, as well as their first FAM trip.

Hyatt Vivid Grand Island
Situated on an island between Nichupute Lagoon and the Caribbean Sea, Hyatt Vivid Grand Island is a luxurious resort that recently opened in April 2024. While the location is a bit different than your typical beachfront resort in Cancun, this five-star, adults-only property has a private beach club, just minutes from the property. Shuttles run every hour, and guests can relax in style, with features that include an exclusive infinity pool, on-site restaurant, and beachfront service. The Hyatt Vivid Grand Island boasts 400 elegantly designed rooms, offering guests a blend of comfort and sophistication. Amenities include three swimming pools, a fitness centre, and 10 dining venues and six bars.
With an 18-hole, par-72 course is set against the backdrop of Cancun’s Hotel Zone, the Hyatt Vivid Grans Island is perfect for golf lovers. Besides the golf offerings, the hotel enhances its golf experience one step further with its Vantage Club suites, which offer sweeping views of both the golf course and the ocean.
In 2025, the adjacent Dreams Vivid Grand Island will open on site, along with a shared spa.
Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres
Opened in February 2024, Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres is one of the newest five-star, adults-only beachfront properties from the Hyatt Inclusive Collection.
With 507 rooms, the resort is known for its “Unlimited-Luxury” services, which include 24-hour room service, a daily refreshed in-room minibar, and both daytime and nighttime entertainment.
Key highlights of the property include four large swimming pools, two of which are oceanfront infinity pools, a 29,000-square-foot spa (which fully opened just last week), and a spacious state-of-the-art fitness centre. For those seeking enhanced luxury, the Preferred Club offers upgraded suites, an exclusive lounge, an infinity pool, and personalized concierge services. The resort also boasts nine diverse dining venues and eight bars, catering to a wide range of culinary preferences.
Dreams Vista Cancun
Opened in July 2020, the Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort is a family-friendly property that offers a wide range of amenities for guests of all ages. For younger guests, the on-site splash park, or children’s clubs provide endless entertainment. The resort features seven dining options, including gourmet à la carte restaurants and casual venues, along with six bars offering a variety of drinks in different settings.
Guests can enjoy three swimming pools, including a stunning adults-only rooftop pool with breathtaking views. Below, the main pool is the size of two Olympic swimming pools. The resort boasts 416 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, all with ocean views, and key highlights include a rooftop terrace, a state-of-the-art spa, and an adjacent 18-hole golf course.
Breathless Cancun Soul
Also located between the Caribbean Sea and Nichupte Lagoon, Breathless Cancun Soul is a five-star, adults-only resort that opened in December 2021. With 429 rooms done up in a contemporary design that highlights local artworks, guests can choose from lagoon or ocean views. While the Breathless brand by Hyatt Inclusive Collection still falls under the luxury portfolio, it’s known for its fun inclusions, like pop-up entertainment and hands-on activities.
Known for its three distinct categories—low, medium and high energy—the resort is divided into spaces that reflect these three individual concepts. For example, the pool in the medium energy area will have light music, but up on the rooftop pool in the high-energy area, a DJ is playing loud tunes as guests enjoy a variety of water activities in the pool.
Guests can indulge in a variety of dining experiences at 10 gourmet restaurants, which include international cuisine options ranging from French to Pan-Asian. Additionally, there are 10 bars and lounges, providing diverse atmospheres for relaxation and entertainment. Key highlights of the resort include its three sparkling swimming pools, a rooftop lounge with panoramic views, and a vibrant social atmosphere ideal for those seeking both relaxation and entertainment.
Secrets/Dreams Playa Mujeres
Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort opened in November 2014. This adults-only, all-inclusive resort features 424 luxurious suites, each with private terraces or balconies offering spectacular ocean views. The resort offers a variety of dining experiences with its nine restaurants, including six gourmet à la carte options. Guests can enjoy three serene pools, including an expansive infinity pool that seamlessly blends with the Caribbean horizon. Secrets Playa Mujeres is particularly popular among couples and honeymooners, offering an intimate escape with access to a Greg Norman-designed golf course and a world-class spa for the ultimate in relaxation.
Right next door, you’ll find Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, which opened in November 2016. This luxurious all-inclusive resort boasts 502 elegantly appointed suites, offering stunning ocean or pool views. Guests of the adults-only Secrets property are able to arrange a quick golf shuttle, or walk a path that connects the two properties, granting them access to a suite of shared amenities and inclusions.
Dreams Playa Mujeres includes 10 diverse dining options, including gourmet à la carte restaurants, buffets, and casual eateries.
