Flair makes its first flight to Kingston, Jamaica
Flair Airlines took its inaugural flight from Toronto to Kingston, Jamaica on Dec. 16.
Passengers, flight crew and Flair executive team members were greeted with a celebratory water welcome on the runway followed by a special reception hosted by Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett.
The new non-stop service from Toronto Pearson International airport (YYZ) to Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) is expected to bring more than 23,000 passengers into the destination over the winter season.
About the flight
The flight will operate three times per week with departures on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until May 4, before switching to Monday, Wednesday and Friday departures for the summer period.
“Flair’s new Toronto to Kingston service is an important bridge between two cultures and signifies a new era of connectivity for the Jamaican Diaspora in Canada,” said Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica. “These new low-cost flight options provide the Jamaican Canadian community with increased opportunities to come home to connect with family and friends, and will encourage Canadian travellers to explore the many rich attractions waiting to be discovered in our island’s cultural centre.”
