Air Canada activates in Vancouver with Asia news
Small bunches of rainy day flowers in Vancouver help spread the news that Air Canada has been busy ramping up its flight capacities and frequencies to Asia.
Air Canada staffers welcomed shoppers and passers-by to a pair of pop-up booth locations – read activations – that operated over two weekends recently. One was at the downtown Pacific Centre Mall, the other at the terminal Waterfront Skytrain station – both bustling locations with free bouquets on offer.
Along with the flowers was news that Air Canada has announced a strategic boost to its Asia-Pacific network capacity starting mid-December through to the end of next summer 2024. This has resulted in recent and upcoming international route launches from Vancouver, cementing YVR as the premium North American gateway to Asia. For example:
The Vancouver-Hong Kong route will operate up to 11 weekly flights starting mid-Dec.
The seat capacity will nearly double on flights between Canada and Japan this winter.
The Vancouver-Bangkok flights will operate daily during peak winter months, and the season has been extended to early May 2024.
The new route to Singapore from Vancouver will launch in April 2024.
