St. Pete/Clearwater Launches ‘From Visitors, With Love’ Campaign
Visit St. Pete/Clearwater has launched its new value of tourism campaign “From Visitors, with Love,” coinciding with 727 Day. The new campaign is designed to celebrate the positive impacts the tourism industry brings to Pinellas County, including an economic impact of approximately $10.8 billion annually, while inviting residents to share in the benefits that a successful visitor economy brings to the community.
Brian Lowack, Interim President/CEO of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, said: “We are fortunate to live in a destination where most only dream of visiting. The tourism industry is the lifeblood of our community, and we are grateful to both our visitors and residents who have helped to build St. Pete/Clearwater into an ideal place to live, work and play.
And Lowack added: “This campaign celebrates our residents, who graciously share their homes with visitors from around the world to positively impact our community daily.”
Not only do taxes generated from visitor spending help to renourish the destination’s beaches, it generates jobs, tax savings, and funding for events, attractions and parks – from restaurants to flower shops, to museums, tourism’s reach knows no bounds in Pinellas County.
The 2022 Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Visitor Profile Study reported that visitor spending exceeded $6.7 billion, creating over 109,000 local jobs and generating over $3.56 billion in wages and salaries over the course of the year. This economic boost of tourist-generated revenue is proof that when visitors choose St. Pete/Clearwater for their vacation, they’re sending more than just a little love to the entire community.
The brand-new value of tourism campaign involved two pop-up events at destination landmarks including St. Pete Pier, where Visit St. Pete/Clearwater provided complimentary coffee from local vendor, Café Tuk Tuk, starting at 7:27 a.m. and the newly unveiled Coachman Park, where park goers were surprised with treats from Frios Gourmet Pops, along with local entertainment items starting at 7:27 p.m. through 9 p.m.
