The Fairmont Empress in Victoria has recently unveiled an extensive makeover of its luxury Fairmont Gold product.

The thorough renovation work includes the transformation of the Fairmont Gold lounge, with over 4,000 square feet of opulence, plus the addition of 22 new Fairmont Gold guest rooms. The changes usher in a new era of luxury at Victoria’s iconic Castle on the Coast, says Fairmont.

Exposed brick archway doors, fireplace and original steel beams dating back to the building’s original 1908 architecture—discovered during the renovation process—now have pride of place, and the new Fairmont Gold lounge pays homage to the origins of the Empress by preserving these classic details. The Empress is celebrating its 115th anniversary throughout 2023.

Guests have access to unique living room spaces in the Fairmont Gold lounge, including alcoves, library nooks, bistro seating and an expansive outdoor terrace.  The residential-style pantry serves a daily breakfast, afternoon tea bites and evening canapés, and has a full service honour bar.

Each of the 22 new Fairmont Gold guest rooms have been designed with rich fabrics, sleek furnishings and modern marble bathrooms with rainfall showers. The Fairmont Gold experience also includes concierge services and amenities.
