NARAT Puts Portugal On Show At YYZ Event
NARAT promoted the newest destination in its lineup this week (Dec. 12), while also paying tribute to those travel agents who have been working closely with the tour operator.
The company was among those touting Portugal as a vacation destination at an event in Toronto while simultaneously recognizing its top agents.
“I’m pleased to welcome the travel agent community to this wonderful event,” NARAT CEO Thanushka Nanayakkara told the gathering.
Earlier, NARAT spokeswoman Renata Snidr noted the tour operator was again recognizing outstanding agents in person, something it hadn’t been able to do in the past couple of years because of the pandemic.
“We’re thrilled to finally have the opportunity to celebrate yearly success with consultants in person. It’s a great opportunity to reward consultants that have achieved great sales,” she said.
Nanayakkara said Portugal offers varied landscapes and activities, stating visitors will find a “kaleidoscope of experiences.”
NARAT’s program includes the Azores Islands, which Nanayakkara compared to Hawaii, but which are “more beautiful” than the U.S. state.
NARAT notes that Azores experiences range from wine-tastings to whale-watching.
The evening showcased Portuguese culture, with a Portuguese movie shown and those on hand treated to a performance of Portuguese music.
Meanwhile, SATA Azores Airlines representative Karen Evans — also hand for the event — said that carrier is “very happy” that NARAT will be sending people to the Azores. Her carrier offers nonstop Toronto-Azores service.
