Newly expanded Family Cup at Sun Peaks

The seventh annual Sun Peaks Family Cup is now underway at Sun Peaks Resort in BC, with two Australian winter Olympians taking part in the festivities. Australian Olympic athletes, Ben Sim (Nordic) and Ramone Cooper (moguls) are participating in the events and visiting with resort guests. Newly expanded this winter, the two-week celebration runs until Jan. 16. It takes in various family focused activities, events and competitions throughout the village and on the mountain, culminating with the signature race, the Sun Peaks Family Cup, on Jan. 12. This takes place on a modified Dual GS course and is suitable for all abilities. It has been raced by those as young as two and as old as 71. In 2012, there were more than 100 competitors from five countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore.
