RIU adds second hotel in Costa Rica
RIU Hotels & Resorts has opened its second hotel in Costa Rica and the first in the Riu Palace luxury range: the Riu Palace Costa Rica. The resort is in the region of Guanacaste, and adjacent to the Riu Guanacaste hotel, which opened in 2009. The Riu Palace Costa Rica offers 538 rooms with free Wi-Fi Internet and 24-hour room service. There are five restaurants: Arenal, which offers a buffet of international cuisine with dishes cooked to order, and four a la carte restaurants: Japanese Tokio, Italian L’Anfora, Papagayo grill-steakhouse and the modern Krystal. Guests can also choose from five bars. Pastries are found in the Capuchino patisserie. The five-star resort boasts four pools, one of which has a swim-up bar and a children’s pool, as well as a miniclub for kids and entertainment programs operating day and night. The resort also includes El Poblado, home to boutiques, a kiosk, souvenirs and photography shop, as well as the Renova Spa, where guests can enjoy free use of the gym, sauna and Jacuzzi.
