Discover The World In One Province
Ontario is investing $6 million in a campaign to help support the recovery of the local tourism sector.
Designed by Destination Ontario — an agency of the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries – the new campaign encourages Ontarians to safely rediscover the diversity of attractions and experiences that demonstrate Ontario offers the world in one province.
Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, said that: “This campaign is a compelling reminder of our province’s rich and unique tourism offerings and will give a much-needed boost to a sector that has been among the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Minister MacLeod continued: “With its diverse experiences, natural beauty, vibrant arts and cultural scene and international cuisine, Ontario truly is the world in one province. I encourage everyone to plan their fall and winter getaways safely, adhering to COVID-19 protocols and take advantage of the abundant local travel possibilities and rediscover the world of Ontario.”
Running from now (Oct. 4) to Nov. 14, 2021, the fall campaign is the second of three 2021- 22 campaigns launched in cinema and on radio, digital, print and social media.
It promotes tourism activities in Ontario this fall and includes links to itineraries, articles and points of interest.
People can follow the campaign on social media with the #RediscoverON hashtag.
Lisa LaVecchia, president and CEO, Destination Ontario, observed that: “Fall is a beautiful season in Ontario. We have a variety of ways to appreciate this season by enjoying fall colours and spending quality time with friends and loved ones during a safe getaway.”
LaVecchia pointed out that: “Through this marketing campaign, Destination Ontario is pleased to collaborate with tourism stakeholders and share with Ontarians the many reasons why the world of Ontario is right in your own backyard, waiting to be rediscovered again.”
Tim Hudak, Chair of the Tourism Economic Recovery Ministerial Task Force, said that: “This campaign is on the money, reflecting a key finding of the Ontario Tourism Recovery Task Force: Ontarians are increasingly excited and ready to safely rediscover their province.”
And Hudak added: “I applaud the Ontario Government and Minister MacLeod for continuing to support our hard-hit tourism businesses by encouraging Ontarians to discover all their province has to offer year-round.”
