WestJet adds Windy City flights
WestJet has started operating its new, non-stop, seasonal service to Chicago O’Hare from Vancouver and Calgary. The new flights are timed to connect with WestJet’s code-share partner, American Airlines, to cities such as Boston, Philadelphia and Washington. American Airlines is code-sharing on the Chicago flights; therefore, WestJet passengers have the ability to earn either WestJet dollars or AAdvantage miles when booking these services. John MacLeod, WestJet’s vice-president, network management and alliances, said that: “The launch of service to Chicago represents another step in the execution of our strategy to offer both Canadian and American business and leisure travellers greater access to key markets in both countries.” WestJet is now operating once daily service between Calgary and Chicago until Oct. 26, 2012 and once daily between Vancouver and Chicago until Oct. 27, 2012.
