Food bank collections equals free breakfast at Ala Moana

The Ala Moana Hotel has just started its annual efforts to collect food donations for the Hawaii Foodbank. The hotel is inviting guests to make donations in exchange for a classic, full island breakfast buffet. Any guest staying at the hotel who contributes either two kilos or six cans of food items from March 1 to April 15 will receive a coupon to enjoy a breakfast at Plantation Café. “Nearly 30% of Hawaii’s households have to choose monthly between buying food and paying the rent,”said Polly Kauahi, Hawaii Foodbank’s director of development. “The foodbank is extremely grateful to businesses like Ala Moana Hotel that offer these kinds of incentives.”Room rates at the hotel in Waikiki start at US$129.
