Sandals Hosts Chairman’s Appreciation Luncheon

Gordon “Butch” Stewart, founder and chairman of Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts, along with Jamaica Prime Minster Andrew Holness, recently hosted the Chairman’s Appreciation Luncheon – dedicated to give the sincerest thanks to those who help move the brand forward every day – at Sandals Montego Bay, the flagship resort.

Adam Stewart, deputy chairman, Sandals Resorts International, noted that the luncheon’s focus was to “tell the Sandals story.” He walked attendees through the resort company’s timeline from its humble beginnings with one resort near the airport in Montego Bay to the evolution of where the brand is today, and finally, the bright future ahead for the company and its loyal employees and key stakeholders.

The luncheon featured presentations from key individuals within the Sandals organization, including Carl Beviere, general manager, Sandals Montego Bay; Gary Sadler, senior vice-president of sales for Unique Vacations Inc.; Heidi Clarke, director of the Sandals Foundation, and Jordan Samuda, director of procurement for Sandals Resorts International.

The event concluded with keynote addresses from Sandals’ Chairman Gordon “Butch” Stewart and Jamaica Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who mentioned his admiration and respect for Stewart, noting, “You could describe him as a patriot, a thinker, an innovator, but he is also a philanthropist and someone who cares deeply about people.”

A handful of 142 lucky guests who have been instrumental in the success of the Sandals brand were in attendance, including various ministers in the Jamaican government, the mayor of Montego Bay, Chairman’s Royal Club elite travel agents, several directors and general managers from Sandals Resorts International and executives from Unique Vacations Inc.
