Spark Your Sense of Wander With Collette
Travel trade personnel were treated to a number of “explorative experiences” last night in Toronto as Collette hosted an Explorations launch party.
Attendees were able to “journey” through the lavender fields of France, try their hand at truffle rolling as you might on a tour of Switzerland, get a henna tattoo (see picture below) as found on Collette’s Mysteries of India excursion, taste a Pisco Sour like you might try while in Machu Picchu or the Galapagos Islands or get their picture taken in front of a wall mural like you might find in Colombia.
Collette’s new line of Explorations features 20 plus tours designed for travellers looking for unique and immersive experiences far beyond the surface of the destination.
Featuring small groups (no more than 18 passengers), Explorations’ itineraries focus on active and hyper-local experiences, as well as culturally reflective accommodations and enhanced culinary offerings. Many tours include the choice-on-tour option where guests select the experience that appeals to their interest.
“Over the last 100 years, we’ve learned a lot about what works on tour and we’re excited to add this breath of product to Collette’s offerings,” said Collette CEO Dan Sullivan, who noted the product line is taking the market by storm. “Whether it’s hunting for truffles in southern France, a home-hosted meal in Morocco, or an overnight in a glass igloo in northern Finland, our guests can now connect to destinations in an entirely different way.”
According to officials, helping set Explorations’ itineraries apart from the norm are experiences beyond expectations, small group size, free time, local experts, authentic culinary experiences and unique four-star and above accommodations.
New tours include: Colours of Morocco; Taste of Vietnam; The Northern Lights of Finland (where guests stay in glass igloos and can lead a dogsled team through the forests of Northern Finland); Italy’s Bella Vita; Journey Through Southern France; The Novelties of Northern Spain; Switzerland: Hidden Trails & Majestic Peaks; Mysteries of India; Kingdoms of Southeast Asia; Experience Colombia; Costa Rica: A World of Nature; Icelandic Adventure; The Plains of Africa; Machu Picchu & the Galapagos Islands; Countryside of the Emerald Isle; Italy’s Treasures: Art, Food, & Wine of Italy; Exploring South Africa, Victoria Falls & Botswana; and Tuscan & Umbrian Countryside.
