50 Careers And Counting at Baxter Student Ambassador Program
Since its inception six years ago, the Baxter Student Ambassador Program (BSAP) has helped launch nearly 50 careers in the travel and tourism industry.
“What an achievement for this program,” said Wendy McClung, Executive VP Operations, Baxter Media. “the success of BSAP requires a huge team effort, but thinking about the careers we’ve helped propel and inspiring students we’ve met along the way, makes it all worthwhile.”
Based on a combination of academic success, leadership skills, and a skill-testing webinar presentation, BSAP identifies the most promising student talent in travel, tourism and hospitality programs at Canada’s leading colleges and universities. The only program of its kind in Canada, the program provides winning Ambassadors with opportunities for mentoring and getting involved in the travel industry.
As Baxter Media launches a new year of BSAP this fall, it’s proud to incorporate the principles of responsible travel into the foundation of the program. Student finalists will be asked to present a webinar with a responsible travel focus, be it environmental, social, economic, or cultural. Partners are also encouraged to provide a bursary or responsible themed prize or travel option. In addition, the two-day winners’ event in Toronto next April will have a responsible focus too.
Baxter Media is committed to supporting Canada’s emerging talent, but it is impossible to do it alone. With the support of our generous partners, like the Jamaica Tourist Board, Transat, Fly GTA, Flight Centre, ACTA, Skal Canada, and TIAO, Baxter Student Ambassadors will connect with industry leaders through networking opportunities and gain hands-on experience.
Become a BSAP partner and meet the best and brightest from the next generation, help launch new careers, take action on responsible tourism, and introduce yourself to the newest members of our industry.
