Ski Vermont Is Ready For Winter

Ski Vermont is reminding people about some upcoming ups and downs — with the ups in this case amounting to riding up Vermont ski lifts and the downs being then schussing down Vermont ski resort trails.

The ski resort promotion body held an Oct. 27 reception in Toronto, with Bryan Rivard, Ski Vermont’s director of communications, reporting state ski resorts will soon be ready for skiers to hit their trails.

“It’s a wonderful sport,” he said of skiing. “It’s a great way to connect.”

But Rivard added that Vermont ski resorts don’t cater to skiers alone, even during winter.

“There are a lot of off-slope things for those weird folks who who don’t like to ski from sun-up to sun-down,” he said, citing the likes of snow-tubing.

Vermont offers night skiing, which Rivard joked will look attractive to some “because you can fall and no one sees you.”
